Our work has covered a broad spectrum since our beginnings in 2000. Working on conventional construction projects has always been part of our workload, but most of our efforts have been geared toward 'green' or alternative projects. We helped found the Colorado Straw Bale Association (COSBA) in 2002 which has become a major advocate in the region, offering workshops and bringing people together with the interest of creating a better future through the forces of natural building We are always working on side projects which we feel
have positive impacts on social justice, resource productivity, energy
efficiency and community building. These projects have included bridge
building in Haiti through Engineers
Without Borders and teaching straw bale construction to environmental
activists in Siberia through the Altai
Project. Our experience ranges from general contracting on low-impact residential construction, to subdivision planning and design using new urbanism and ecological design principles, to structural and civil engineering on a wide array of projects around the western region of the United States.
